December 12 is the day of remembrance of Saint Spyridon

We remind you that Greece lives according to the new style, and all church holidays in Greece are celebrated 13 days earlier. The only days that coincide with the Russian calendar are: all days of Lent, Easter and all movable holidays associated with Easter until Pentecost.

On the evening of December 11, the solemn re-dressing of Saint Spyridon in new slippers takes place. On the morning of December 12, the festive Divine Liturgy is served, then a small procession with the cross takes place inside the church (the saint is carried inside the church three times), then Saint Spyridon stands at the iconostasis until the evening of December 14. The church is open around the clock, day and night you can venerate the open relics of the saint, as well as his right hand, services and prayers are held around the clock. On December 14 at 16:00, the relics of the saint are solemnly transferred to a large reliquary (bazmata).
