Barbati Beach
Barbati Beach in Corfu is located 17 km north of Corfu Town on the northeast coast of the island. It is a long pebble beach at the foot of Mount Pantokrator, holding a Blue Flag. In addition to its crystal-clear sea, the beach is known for the abundance of iodine in its water. In the early morning hours, as well as at any time of day, you can see iodine bubbling up from the bottom of the water in the Barbati caves, forming numerous small lakes on the surface.
The central part of the beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, while the other, unequipped part offers a quiet place to relax, enjoy the birdsong, and swim among jagged rocks and grottoes.
The beach is ideal for snorkeling. Barbati offers boat rentals and a variety of water sports. Barbati is one of the most visited beaches on the island of Corfu, as it is one of the closest beaches to town with crystal-clear waters and is reliably protected from the winds by Mount Pantokrator. Barbati offers numerous apartments, villas, shops, taverns, restaurants, beach bars, and supermarkets, both on the beach and on the mountain, with magnificent panoramic views. There is a regular bus service to Corfu Town and the village of Kassiopi.
