Glyfada Beach
Glyfada Beach is one of the most beautiful and popular sandy beaches on the island, and in recent years has been awarded the Blue Flag by the European Union for its crystal-clear waters. Glyfada Beach is ideally located for sunbathers at any time of day.
Glyfada Beach is located on the west coast of the island, 16 km from Corfu Town. It is accessible by a convenient road with parking at the bottom. Glyfada Beach lies at the foot of Mount Pelekas, the summit of which is home to one of Corfu's most beautiful traditional villages, Pelekas. Glyfada Beach is a long, wide strip of golden sand nestled against a mountainside surrounded by the greenery of centuries-old trees. The beach is a favorite among young people, who come here for the popular beach parties with DJs. However, the beach is also suitable for families with small children; the sand is very soft, and the entrance is gently sloping and easy.
