The pearls of the Ionian Sea, the islands of Paxi and Antipaxi, located just off the southern coast of Corfu, and the famous blue caves of Paxi, offer you an unforgettable opportunity to immerse yourself in the picturesque and rugged beauty of these fabulous islands and visit the picturesque place of Lakka.
No holiday in Greece is complete without a sea cruise, and this holiday will leave you with wonderful memories. As you leave the port, you can admire the unique view of the old Venetian city and the two Venetian fortresses. Further south, you will see the Kanoni peninsula and the Mon Repos palace, the birthplace of Prince Philip of Edinburgh. Also visible are the tourist resorts of Perama, Benitses, the village of Kavos and the southernmost point of Corfu, Cape Asprokavos. Approaching the channel between the islands of Corfu and Paxos, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the olive and cypress groves that cover the island of Paxi. Legend has it that Paxi was created by the God of the Seas, Poseidon, who chopped off a piece of Corfu with a mighty blow of his trident and dragged it south to create an idyllic retreat for his beautiful lover, the nymph Amphitrite. The marble palace of Poseidon, as the legend goes, was located in Achaia, one of the blue caves of Paxi. In the natural sea bay of Lakka, there is a traditional village untouched by mass tourism, suitable for those who seek peace and quiet. The ship enters the port of Lakka and moors in the center of this picturesque village. You will have free time to walk around Lakka, swim or have a snack.
Our ship then heads south along the west coast of Paxos, where you can see the impressive rocky coastline and unique white sand beaches. The boat then enters the breathtaking sea caves, whose clear blue waters will leave you speechless. The marine area of the Blue Caves is the natural habitat of the Mediterranean monk seal (monachus monachus). Paxos, Antipaxos and its surroundings are included in the European network of protected areas NATURA 2000. Leaving the caves, we arrive at the small but beautiful island of Antipaxos, whose sandy bays with blue waters and landscapes can be compared to the nature of the Caribbean. Here you will have the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear waters of the “Paradise Beach” (Voutoumi). On the way back, on the east side of the island, we will see the small islands of Skaltsonisi and Mongonisi, the picturesque port of the village of Gaios and the two small islands of Panagia and Agios Nikolaos. Throughout the trip, you can enjoy the sun or stay in the indoor areas and buy drinks at the bar.
